Sámara Palm Lodge is owned and operated by Lothar and his partner-in-life, Brigitte.

In search of new challenges and adventures, Lothar sold his diving center in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands after having run it for the past ten years. Together with Brigitte, we moved to Sámara, Costa Rica in October 2009.

On our very first visit we fell in love with this beautiful land of "Pura Vida", its unspoiled nature and people. For three weeks we travelled the country searching for a little lodge in the perfect place for us. We are both enthusiastic diving instructors and wanted to stay near the ocean and continue to enjoy our passion for diving, and to be able to offer it to our customers. We all need to get wet sometimes....

We were love struck on arrival in Sámara- the fantastic little village, palm lined beach and the lush surrounding tropical jungle. We wondered if we could find our little lodge here.

We met a lot of wonderful and professional people, and through their help we found our little piece of paradise- the Sámara Palm Lodge!

We are now looking forward to our new challenge and adventures in the land of
